Story Time

Storytimes at your library...
are for specific audiences and attendance may be limited.
Programs follow a set routine to encourage children to feel comfortable in a group setting that promotes a love of reading and books.

Please Note: There might not be a story time on any particular day, even if normal story times at that branch are on that day. Please check the monthly youth brochure or the youth services blog for the most complete information. That brochure can be found on the main page of this site.

If Cherokee County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, story times at Cherokee County Libraries will be cancelled for the safety of your children and our staff.  If in doubt, please call Youth Services to confirm story time at your library 770-479-3090 ext. 233.

Programs are usually 30 minutes and may include a craft project.

For the safety of the children, adults are expected to remain with the children or in the library (depending on the age group) while the children participate.

is designed for children ages 2 & 3 with a particpating adult. These programs often feature stories, music, rhymes, and activities that encourage early literacy. The Woodstock and R.T. Jones Lapsit story times will be limited to the first 15 children (plus their caregiver) to arrive and the door to the program will be closed when the program begins.

Saturday Storytimes...
are family story times designed with the working parent and or school-aged child in mind. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult. These programs are often repeat performances of that week's Story Times but do not include a craft activity.
